Class Descriptions

You & Me

A great class for small children which will focus on coordination, dance movement, the expansion of motor skills, and other basic concepts that are great for early child development.

(30 minute classes for ages 18 months – 2 ½ - $36 per month)

 

Pre-School Ballet & Tumbling

Introduces basic movement skills and simple ballet steps.  Stretches and basic tumbling help develop motor skills while creative movement allows for self expression.  

Shoes: pink leather ballet (no bedroom slippers) Pink leotard with pink or white tights.

(45 minute  classes for ages 3-5 - $41 per month)

 

Pre-School Combo Classes

Introduces tap, ballet & tumbling to the young child with an emphasis on development of motor skills while creative movement allows for self expression. 

Shoes: pink leather ballet (no bedroom slippers) and white tap shoes. Pink leotard with pink or white tights.

(45 minute  class for ages 3-4 [B1 $41 per month] or 1 hour class for ages 4-5 [B2 $45 per month]) 

 

Beginner/Intermediate Combo Classes

An older beginner class which teaches the basics of tap, ballet, and tumbling.  An awareness of rhythm, expression &  interaction with other children are taught and encouraged. 

Shoes: pink leather ballet (no bedroom slippers) and white tap shoes. Pink leotard with pink or white tights.

 (1 hour classes for ages 5-7 - $45 per month)   

 

Older Beginner Tap/Ballet Combo Class

Develop clarity and speed of tap basics  while doing fun and lively combinations. Elements of beginning ballet & barre work are taught along with proper French terminology. 

Shoes: pink leather ballet (no bedroom slippers) and white tap shoes. Black leotard with pink or white tights.

(1 hour class for ages 6-8 - $45 per month)

 

Tap & Jazz Combo Class

Tap terminology and skills are taught  while doing fun and lively combinations. Elements of beginning jazz, such as isolations, proper terminology, stretching and basic jazz steps are taught.

Shoes: black slip on jazz shoes and black Mary Jane tap shoes (no patent leather). Any color leotard and shorts.

(1 hour classes and 1.25 hour classes for ages 8-12)

 

Hip Hop

A fun to do class which helps to develop body coordination for the beginner & advance / beginner.  Newest trends in jazz/street dancing are taught. 

Shoes: TBA

(45 minutes and 1 hour classes for ages 6 and up - students MUST be 6 by September 1st of the current season)

 

Lyrical

Intermediate & advanced students progress to master finer points of jazz & lyrical technique at the intermediate / advance levels. 

Ballet must be taken in addition to the lyrical class

Shoes: barefeet or footUndeez (color or pattern may be worn for class, but NUDE must be worn for recital)

(45 minutes and 1 hour classes for ages 10 and up)

 

Contemporary

A lyrical class with a modern twist! This is a great way to learn and incorporate expression while dancing, and also enhance technique. Students must have at least three years of ballet or lyrical experience.

Shoes: Barefeet or footUndeez

(45 minute and 1 hour classes for ages 11+)

 

Irish Tap

A stylized tap class based on traditional Irish dance forms beginning with reels and progressing into more advanced jigs. This class covers a wide variety of material.

Shoes: Block Respect tap in black

(45 minutes classes for ages 8 and up, 3 years of tap experience required)

 

Tap

New dimension in tap technique mixed with jazz styling.  Develops speed and clarity.  Fun and lively combinations. 

Shoes: black tap oxford

(45 minutes and 1 hour classes ages 10 and up)

 

Ballet & Pointe

Serious minded students enjoy the challenge of mastering technique while focusing on the academics of dance. Proper French terminology is taught. Pointe placement by the discretion of the instructor. At least two classes per week must be taken if on pointe.

 

(Ballet: Beginner through Advanced ages 7 and up, Pointe: Intermedaite through Advanced ages 12+)

 

Jazz and Jazz/Lyrical

Intermediate & advanced students progress to master finer points of jazz & lyrical technique at the intermediate / advance levels. 

(45 minutes, 1 hour and 1.25 hour classes for ages 11 and up)

 

Private lessons offered depending on instructor availability and studio space.
